Welcome Tom, I'll give my two cents on tool recommendations in your new thread. Just wanted to say this is some what of an open based forum, yes we have three people designated as administrators but really it's just because those positions need to be filled by someone. Every members contribution is what makes this forum and all contributions are equally appreciated. If this forum has any sort of agenda, it would be simply to create a discussion about these tools. Really no one is more important than anyone else. We're all carpenters in some fashion and that is a common "ranking" we all share. We are all MUF! (I still giggle when I say that)

Hello!
So a Bit about me, I'm from England I run half of a small carpentry and construction company (mainly the carpentry side) We do mainly new builds and renovations although more recently we are looking more and more to specialize in just carpentry. The work i mainly do is fit kitchens cut and pitch roofs, custom built ins and the odd bit of joinery as well.
I have the mafell mt55 and the pc11 jigsaw both of which i absolutely love! especially the dust extraction on the jigsaw, and the special blades. All there tools are seriously well thought out and well put together. I have used a lot of there tools, since they feature in a local tool show every year, i recently had a go on their huge circular saw, i still cant believe how much power that thing had, i have a video of my dad using it, when i work out how to put videos on here i'll stick it on.
Im in no a total mafell fan boy, I just buy the best tool for the need (if i can afford it) and most of the time the best tool comes with the name mafell.

Hello all. Thought I would take the time to say how nice it is to finally have a source for additional information regarding Mafell tools. I am an Architect and my father a Carpenter/lumberyard owner. We both specialize in highly custom work. We enjoy using and also require high quality specialized tools in both of our businesses. Through the years we've acquired many Mafell tools.
Here are some of the Mafell tools we currently own: ZH 320 Ec, LS 103 Ec, ZB 600 E, Z 5 Ec, ZSX Ec, MKS 130 Ec, KSP 85 Fc, MT 55 cc, KSS 400, P1 cc
Mafell quality and performance is unrivaled. That coming from someone who also owns many other high quality tools (Hilti, Festool, etc.)
Again, finally great to have another source for Mafell related info. Thanks for setting up this forum!

Most of the tools you listed don't have a lot of representation on the forum yet. We will all be interested in your contribution. From the sound of it you have had your mafell tools a lot longer than most if not all of us. Welcome.

Pretty impressive list you'll need to put up some of your projects. With the high cost of the tools and high quality do you find that on the projects you do that the tools are able to actually make savings on the projects

Hello I'm Tim. I have been a builder and remodeler for 15 years, I'm also an electrician. While I enjoy all the work I do, working with wood is my favorite part. I normally do not build cabinets for my jobs. I do an occasional built-in. I really enjoy fine woodworking. I have very few what I would call "quality tools" and get frustrated quickly. Therefore I do not do a lot of woodworking. So I'm looking to replace some lower quality tools as time goes on.
I originally found this forum at the FOG. I'm so glad I found this forum before purchasing anything. I have learned so much already and am positive will learn more.
I will admit it really bothers me that there's only one dealer in the US.

I must admit I don't understand why timberwolf tools don't have a network of stores they supply with products or have tool displays at various tool stores. In the UK all mafell tools are distributed through NMA agencies they have a list of suppliers through the country that they supply. I get my stuff through The Saw Center in Glasgow. I can't fault the service. From what I've heard through the forum the service through timberwolf tools is excellent it's just you can't go to a local store and try

I suspect that mafell is considered "special order" tools and their limited distribution means they are not going through I'll ratings. Festool is mass distributed here and eagerly expanding their market but due to their high exposure there is still a large number of items that are "NAINA" unless somehow smuggled. These are suspicions only and based on no evidence or contact with mafell regarding their marketing strategy.
Timber Wolf ,however , is a quality company with excellent customer service.

Have any of you ever purchased Mafell tools with Dennis Hambruch of Mafell North America in Buffalo, NY? Wonder if he's still around. That is where I purchased all of my equipment and Dennis is extremely knowledgable. I understand he's sold Mafell tools since the 80's. I haven't needed anything in a while so not sure if he's still around. Personally have never done business with Timberwolf.

Maybe right America is such a big market to crack and for a small company would be scary I think. That's why maybe mafell supply through timberwolf tools. As maybe they think timberwolf understands the American market better than mafell. Out of curiosity what would be the lead time on getting something like a mt55
