Great ideas for this highly configurable cutting surface. Including my bumper idea for repeat parallel cuts! (Almost but it's essentially exactly what I had in mind). Think I might build me one of these!

Bloody spell check in the title. I'll fix when I get home.

The Mrs asked if I liked it...
I said, "A welder looks at everything in terms of welding, a woodworker in terms of using wood".
It seems like it would be better using a FT extrusion with a MFT style rail holder. That plywood piece seemed like a lot of labor for something that would be better purchased.

In terms of longevity yes, extrusions would be more resilient. in terms of convenience wood is immediately available and the t-groves are cut with a simple router pass. so ya you could go shopping, oryou could bang something up on the spot. At least for a test build I'd probably go the wood way. Thinking of incorporating ideas from this into a modified MFTC.

I'm just starting up my Cabinet Making business in the UK & was looking at building the Holzwerken workbench. Having seen this would this compliment the workbench or is it trying to do something the workbench can already do? Having never actually done much in the way of woodworking I thought I would take advice from those who have!

I like some of the ideas on this. I seen its a a small site worktop. It would not compare to a full sized bench and you might not need one of these if you've got the space for the bigger boy. This just offers a lot of functionality in a small portable package.
