The new Mafell cordless? I've been bugging certain germans about this. Mainly trying to confirm if metabo batteries will work on the saw.The charger they sell is 220v only, Mafell seems scared to try charging their batteries on a 110 charger. My question is what really would be the difference? output is the exact same 18v @5.2amp After I pay off the Erika If all that checks out I'll be ordering one The metabo batteries will work on the tools that share the metabo platform. It's very unlikely 110 charger will be offered. Even in the uk on sites which are 110 the charges will be 240 and plugged in, in the canteen etc.

Ya they won't be doing the 110 charger, confirmed by mafell. My question is does it make a difference for the batteries? I already have a metabo 110v charger. Will it charge mafell batteries and will the Metabo batteries work on the kss 40?

I sent an email to metabo Canada. Not the promptest of sources but we'll see. Basically just asked if charger voltage made a difference for the batteries

Will it charge mafell batteries and will the Metabo batteries work on the kss 40? I would think the answer to these questions would almost certainly be no,yes, yes. after all the batteries are the same just rebadged, if this turns out not to be the case then surely a small 240v-110v transformer/adaptor for the charger would work,i did this in reverse, years ago my sister was on holiday in Toronto(by coincidence) and brought me back the Milwaukee 12v screwdriver which still wasn't available here in the UK at that time,i bought a small adaptor on ebay(110v-240v) and it charged the batteries perfectly,
Mark, was it the new kss40 you got?if so can you post some photos please

Well here's hoping. Is it strange when people holiday in your city you ask yourself "why?" Grass is always greener...

Metabo got back to me this morning and they're stated metabo batteries are all the same the world over and work within any voltage charger. All I want to see now is a metabo battery running a mafell tool.
