Hi fellas!
Ok, so I'm really looking forward to purchasing an Erika 70 this year, and I'm working on putting together my order. Based on responses in other threads, it sounds like, if I want to use a stop for repeat cuts (either with Universal Fence or the MFA), I'd need the 1m (3') Fence Guide Extension, and I'm still not entirely clear as to whether there is a different extension for the two fence styles, or if they use the same?....
Anyways, it occurred to me that it might be cool to instead mount a Incra fence onto the Mafell miter gauge? While Incra offers a variety of fences, I thought the 36" Telescoping Flip Fence might work well? This would replace the Mafell 1m extension, as well as the Telescopic Rod. Together, these Mafell parts cost $200+, whereas the Incra fence plus a flip stop would run ~$100. Now, ultimately I am not terribly concerned about cost here, more about functionality and versatility. The 36" fence expands to 64", which would give me plenty of cross cut capacity, and at 36" (collapsed), I could also use it as a full-length ripping fence.

Just the Flip Fence profile, minus the extension: www.incra.com/product_miter_accessories_flipfence.htm
Here's a different profile. Looks solid, but I don't like that you can't use a flip stop: www.incra.com/product_miter_accessories_incratrack.htm
Anyways, what do you guys think?
Regarding mounting, ideally I'd use the existing mounting holes in the Mafell protractors, but I'd need to know the height of the holes above the table surface, can anybody please provide me with that dimension? If the holes line up with the channel in the fence that's great, if not I'm sure I could rig something up. Metric or Imperial dimensions would be fine. Thanks!!!
Regarding length, assuming I were to go with the Telescoping Fence with a Flip Stop, which length would you suggest? It looks like I can choose from 18"-31", 27-49", or 36"-64" options. I thought the 36"-64" fence would give me maximum crosscut capacity (as far as setting the flip stop), and gives me a table-length fence. However, I wonder if I'd be better off with a short fence to set up a "Euro-style" fence, where the rip fence only extends just a little past the blade arbor? I suppose I could always cheat the longer fence.....
The face of the Incra profiles has a lot of ribs, which I don't think would be an issue for ripping stock, but I could always attach a strip of UHMW for a continuous face.....
