I bought these plans from Andrew and think they are great. It allows you to make two sizes 4x8 and 4x4 with the same design. I really like it. He's got plans for an MFT top and a saw stand for it as well. I made mine with adj legs so it's the same height as my other benches/saw and I can lower it for assembly. And in the 4x4 mode. It uses the cross supports of the 4x8. Notice the hi-tech track saw

It's very strong but how much wiggle it has is dependent on your slot tightness. I made mine tight with an undersized router bit with the expectation that it would open up a bit with sliding it in it out.

Pretty sweet. You could always correct any slop with a wee shim or wedge if you needed to

I like this idea. Seems like an ideal solution for my mft style top for on site work.
