Still looking good I see you're still doing a bit of hand work. Is that a gremacy hold fast. I've bei thinking of getting that kind of hold fast when I make a bench as it looks so simple and effective Yes, I have four of them. They work great but you'll need to dimple the shaft with a punch for them to grip in a thick bench top. Check out the below video by Richard Maguire. Also if you want a "real" holdfast get one made by Peter Ross. Second video below.

Yes, I've been very busy. Working on a 1,000,000 sf project takes up all of your free time. Here are a few photos of the bench's current state. I'll try to be more diligent about taking progress photos. I've not made much progress in the past few months. Leg vise is fitted but not finished. Still have the lower shelf to make and sliding deadman and 49 dogs. And other misc. stuff.

It's mostly good to be busy. I would rather be less busy than I am most of the time. It seems like the perfect amount of work is an almost impossible balance to find...busy with good income but still sane. Seems it's mostly a choice between not busy enough or too busy. Good to hear from you. The bench will still be there when the 1m sq ft job is done.

Looking really good! Never would have thought to put a toothed finish on a top. Interesting idea...

Very Nice! Also a fan of a toothed top. Not sure why anyone would want a smooth finish for woodworking.

Really nice work. Is that one of those lie nielson flooring planes. I guess you enjoy using the hand tools as much as the power tools.
