I frickin love that thing! How much does it weigh? 30 lbs get one...you'll be amazed at what you can do with it. There's also a handle on the bottom so two people can use it horizontally. We ripped some timber for door casings this way following a line on both sides of the timber. I also usually hook it up to the ct vac.

I rarely, if ever work with timber of those dimensions. Great tool but my business can't justify it

I have the HL850 planer and it is an awesome tool...very versatile, especially with the bench unit -- perfect for smaller pieces at the bench in furniture work. Highly recommend it.

Quick 4x6 beam end detail cut with the Z5. Quicker than my P1cc!

Quick 4x6 beam end detail cut with the Z5. Quicker than my P1cc! Still glad you joined the forum. It's nice to see all the Mafell timber framing tools. You are the only T Framer on the forum if I am not mistaken. The rest of us seem to do more general types of carpentry and primarily use tools from the Mafell Jr category. The fact that Mafell manufactured all the heavy duty equipment was a big selling point for me in buying the smaller tools. It definitely says something for their engineering.
