Hi, before I start, let me say I am a Festool , Lamello and Mafell fan. I have a lot of their tools. i have the mt 55 which is the best. I have the pic jig saw, also fabulous. I am only stating this to help offset the flack I am going to get criticising the kss300. In most respects it is a wonderful little saw. Build quality and usability is superb. however the crosscut accuracy is not good. With the rail at the 0 indent and locked it is not 90 deg. To produce a true 90 cut I have had to shim the moveable adjuster. I’m not sure how much in mm, 2 or 3 layers of insulating tape is what I have used. I have ordered flexible shim material to make a more professional job of it. There should be some way to fine tune the rail.

mmm... I have the KSS40 - I think it's the same rail, someone will correct me if I'm wrong!.. I checked mine with a good square and it's spot on - have you done the same?.. run the square down the splinter strip and check it touches the two protruding parts underneath.
If the rail is not square - get it back to Mafell for a replacement. If it is square, let us know...

And do not worry about being critical on this forum - we invite that - no tool company is perfect and honest assessments and feedback is welcome.

I've had the kss300 and currently have the ks40, both dead on square. I seem to remember someone else having the same issue though.
