I think this will be very popular (first I've seen of a stand alone batt op vac grip). Since it isn't dedicated to a fixed station it becomes incredibly versatile. Like the Fest & Schmalz vacuum holders you could have a simple mount for your portable work table but then unclip it and use it for so much more. Endless possibilities ( especially when battery runs out). I hope other tool mfgs. pile on an offer their own. prisma-tools.ch/epages/174512.sf/de_CH/?ObjectPath=/Shops/174512/Products/5V.NG.0001

This looks brilliant, thanks for the heads up Kraft. I might go ahead and order one, I could find endless uses for this.

Was going to reply that I'm also sorely tempted to try one out too but that at $400CHF ($400us) I'd want a some reviews etc. first. Then I watched the video again and paused it when I noticed the branding - 'Nemo - Grabbo'. Quick search and Amazon sells it for $229 with fifteen 5 star reviews so far. Sadly if you click on the reviewers names the majority of the reviewers only have posted 1 or 2 reviews so they must be reviews by seller trying to prime the money pump. ---------------------- same amazon reviews featured at their website
various videos portraying testing So many videos ( I count 23 so far ), large marketing team, all you gotta do these days if you've got a legit product is get the tool into s.m. reviewers hands and it snowballs - the fake reviews just don't fit.

I too could find endless uses for this, but not at 400CHF - my 2x Festool Gecko's will do for now!

Spoke with Woods Powr-Grip today to ask if they were aware of the Grabo but more to the point if they make anything for rough surface material handling. (they dont't). Was surprised to learn that back in the late 90's they introduced a battery operated suction cup just like the Grabo. They took it to all the glass trade shows... and were laughed at. When asked it they might give it another try the phrase 'once bitten twice shy' was used.

After a quick look over while charging the batteries the only negative that prompts comment is that the grip is much larger than I’d like (~45mm?) and it’s smooth plastic so I’ll be wearing gloves with a nitrile or latex palm coating. The unit has a gauge which indicates the strength of the vacuum. There is a factor you can multiply by the gauge reading to find the weight that can be lifted. Non-porous things will be at the high end, well above my capacity to lift one handed, or even two these days. There are four pretty stout brackets with holes that can be used to attach lifting straps or with some creativity a fixture that could turn the Grabo into a stationary vacuum clamp. Run time is said to be 1.5 hours per battery pack. Haven’t run it nearly long enough to discover if there is a heat issue if run continuously. It’s too noisy to run for no good reason. Just picked up a couple of these - needed some vacuum grips for winching some heavy tiles up. So far very impressed.
Also great for laying tiles - picking up and placing, then manipulating into place - run the pump for 2 seconds, then it holds for over 10 minutes without needing to turn back on.
Got some appliances to winch up a couple of floors soon, will be using them for that too.
Recommended!

Well had to winch a reasonably large fridge up two floors - no staircase in yet - put a Grabo on each side of the fridge near the top, ran a ratchet strap through both handles and over the top of the fridge - and lifted it up in one go... pretty impressive. Finding lots of new uses for them.
