Hi all.
This is my first post but I have been interested in mafells lineup of circular saws a long time but I have not been able to justify a buy.
My experience:
I have not a lot of experience with circular saws but the one I have I use a lot. I have a skilsaw from the -90 850W 160mm fine cut 2,1mm kerf blade, no riving knife, no dust extraction. It burns the timber easily if cutting through thicker stock. I think the burning is because the motor is underpowered and I need to feed to slow to make the cut. So that is something I do not want.
My scenario is that I'm a homeowner and I renovate and build in my home.
Next summer we are going to build a deck of impregnated pine lumber approx 50m2. I will assemble a new kitchen, perhaps enlarge the hose.
I have a compound mitre saw.
I like the dust extraction on the mt 55 and perhaps I will be using the prescoring option when assembling my kitchen top.
I live up north where there is below freezing temperature in the winter. The dust extraction would be really good when working in my garage that has no real ventilation.
I read a lot on forums and there they say they are using the track saw more and more when renovating.
So I was thinking of buying the mt55 and a cheaper other circular saw I could use free hand. Or the kss 50.
I really like the concept of the strong mt55. But I do not know how much I will use it.
I really like the kss 50 but I do not think it has not so good dust extraction from the look of it. I will do some renovation and laying floor indoors so that the dust extraction is something I really would like.
I would like to trim the panel on my fasade which means I have to nail or clamp the guide rail to the wall. will that work with the mt55/ kss50?
If I cut through nails will that brake the motor or bearings? Is there a blade that can be used for cutting in lumber that might have nails?
Can I cut drywall/concrete boards without breaking the bearings? what blade should I use for this?
Lastly. Do you have a suggestion on a smaller nimble circular saw with riving knife that is good free hand and can be plunged. weight about 4-4,5kg max. I live in the EU.
