Hi Holmz thanks for your comments, I feared I might only encounter tumbleweeds. Yes I was originally looking at the Mafell, however I saw the Triton and one of the dealers was doing an extra 5% off this weekend so I got it for a steal. It is advertised as coming with 2 off 10mm drills but 6mm and 10mm are also available as accessories. So yes I imagine the 6mm will be ideal for shelf pin holes. The Triton does have "teeth" on the fence which look similar to the Mafell. I have taken a punt on the Triton but they do not seem to offer the jig so was hopeful if somebody could confirm or deny the compatibility? Obviously my comments were not helpful. Cost always gets me on spur of the moment decisions.

You may be able to score on a dd-40 by searching under the Hoffman brand name. The unit will most likely be 8+ years old, but since it was manufactured by Mafell and is identical, aside from sticker, you can get replacement brushes/parts just as easy as if you needed parts for a M dd-40.

found the photos I took of the triton, they show it fitting the template guide and next to my DD40P,its hard to see from the photos but the quality is very low in comparison to the mafell machine, but then again the excellent quality of the mafell tools probably spoil us a little, here are the photos:
