Hello all, first off, I may be imagining this “problem”.
It seems that the engagement time of my blade brake has changed. I thought that it used to engage and stop the blade within 2-3 seconds of powering down. Now, the blade will continue to spin for probably 5 seconds before the brake engages.
Possibly the best troubleshooting would be for a few of you to do me a huge favor and time your brakes from power off to dead stop. I can do the same tomorrow when I get back to my project.
I believe everything was working properly when I started this morning and the only thing I did today that I don’t recall doing before is using the -3* override knob. When I engaged the override and started the saw, it made a strange noise that I don’t recall hearing before. I believe the sound only lasted for about 5 seconds. It almost seemed like the blade was cutting something like a piece of plastic.
Before I contact the vendor about possible service issue, I would like to hear from a few of you as to your brake timing. Thanks in advance to any willing to help me with this troubleshooting.
Best regards, Chris

Mine seems like it is 5010 seconds too. I thought, "That takes a while", the last time I used it.
But I work slow, and think slow, so it is no drama.

I think I can say that it is my overactive imagination. My brake timing is just above 6 seconds. Compared to the three replies, I am definitely in the correct spot. Thanks Eoj, Holmz and Knight Woodworks!

...late to the party but can concur, around 6 seconds.
I love the Erika, the only thing that bothers me is the connection of the blade guard/dust hood to the riving knife.
Maybe I've lost a washer along the way, but sometimes it just doesn't seem to sit tight.

Something to keep in mind is, at what speed setting are you operating? At setting “G” (fastest), it takes ~6 seconds for the blade on my Erika 70 to fully stop. At “C”, it takes ~3 seconds....

I don’t think I’ve used it on any setting other than G, but I suppose it’s possible that I was using the saw on a lower speed without knowing it.

I've never seen a spot labeled C?
