First time posting but have been reading this forum for sometime.
i have a DD40P and have make some inquiries about about the DDF40. Here are what I was told a. DDF 40 supersede the DD 40G b. DD 40P is the Power version. If you look compare DDF40 and DD 40P, you will notice the DD40P has more grunt. DD40P has 1000w and DDF40 has 900W DD40P comes with 3 sets of drill bits, DDF40 comes with 2 sets. DD40P has a Nominal speed - no load iod 13,500rpm, DDF40 has 8000 rpm c. I made some inquiries about Leistenanschlag LA and Seitenanschlag-Set . I was told both are not backward compatible. They both cannot fit DD40 P and DD40G. In my opinion, Mafell should have made those 2 backward compatible.

In an ideal world, yes, but the older models don't have the fixing points for the two new accessories you mentioned. 900w is not far behind the DD40P, but 8000rpm seems slow.

Gives the impression that there’s someone home at mafell, you can tell they geeked-out on it, gives me hope for similar efforts to come in other tools.

Hard to say whats going on here, but i think maybe the user is being careful?
Of course there are a lot variables, material, bit diameter,... but overall I'd say it has not really been a problem for me to plunge 1 time with my DD40p. You just have to be kind of firm with it.

Thanks, couldn't tell if he was being tentative or if bits don't eject debris well enough.

Not sure I’m going to a Uk tool show where mafell are next week I’m going to have a go on one , the changes certainly make it more user friendly is it enough for me to upgrade ? Not sure on that one it’s a tool which I only occasionally use anyway dare I say it my Festool domino is used a lot more “that debate is for another day “😁 but I will definitely post my views after next week if that helps .

Hello! Is DDF40 compatible with: a) dowel drilling template 800 mm (203980), b) dowel drilling template extension 1600 mm (203434). Thanks.

I don't see the need for me to upgrade, the improvements look neat but it's not a heavy use item for me. I mainly use the lamello for cabinets and the dd40 for shelf pin holes. The new indexing arm looks useful as does the new depth setting though.

Have you used the DD40 with the Zeta for Divario?

I got to see one of these up close yesterday at the d&m toolshow. I went thinking I'd have a look but I've got a domino so why would I want one. Anyway I'm now working out how much I could get for my domino and really thinking of getting one.
I think it would suit my work much better, mainly building carcases. It can also be used to drill the shelf pin holes. They also had a few of the Hafele ixconnect knock down fittings there. A fraction of the cost of the new festool ones and more simple to fit. At the show they were selling for £799 but no one else is selling them yet so the price might change.
