Looking at the Hawera website, it looks like they're part of Scintilla AG. Scintilla AG is part Bosch Switzerland and it even has "The Bosch Group Worldwide" on their website.
Looks like these are just Bosch blades without the name. Nice find. Unfortunately I don't think I see any NA distributors.

Hey altr, nice table I think the W4 Blade is basically the Bosch T244D. The T144D is designed for straight cuts while T244D is designed for curved cuts, as the W4. OK, the thread is kind of old. But still I think it is up to date.

Hawera is to Scintilla as Diablo is to Freud. Marketing differentiation. Scintilla is to Robert Bosch as Freud is. Subsidiaries.
If I was cutting 4" hardwood I simply wouldn't p#ss around with any sort of jigsaw, but look up a mate with a bandsaw. Surely you can't be making large numbers of cuts?

Mafell offers many types of Mafell-branded blades for the P1CC. I am attaching scans here from a 2013 brochure that describes the blades because I had a hard time finding a clear list until Timberwolf Tools sent me a higher resolution pdf. Given forum member "7"'s testing of the Bosch T345XF and my side-by-side comparison of the Bosch T345XF with the Mafell W+M2, I have done my best to match images of Mafell blades with the identical Bosch blade package. The blades with a Mafell logo cost about twice as much as the Bosch, so I will be buying Bosch in the future. These prices were found on October 15, 2013 and do not include tax and shipping.

Not sure about other forum members, but I have a hard time finding Bosch blades that aren't bent before one even opens the retail package (that includes the black ones). Makes me wonder how many of the Maffel blades are premium modifications over their Bosch counterparts? Attachments:

About 1/2 the Bosch blades are bent, so that makes up for the 2x price? the cunex do work good, and I use Bosch for the dog wor, and the dunes for the pretty work.

Never had a problem opening the Bosch (US, seems overseas looks different from what I'm used to) packaging for their 3-5 packs, I just use a knife to cut the plastic near the top in a U shape, roughly 1cm tall on the sides and across the top and then the blade slides right out when I lightly flex the plastic and have it aimed down.

The "bend" thing (actually a bow) is not as bad as I'm implying. But I noticed, so it has to be real. ๐๐ฆ

The "bend" thing (actually a bow) is not as bad as I'm implying. But I noticed, so it has to be real. ๐๐ฆ I have had a variety of Jigsaws over many years, good, bad and indifferent. On occasion, every one of them skewed the cut in some way, no matter how carefully I prepared. So for the last eight years I have avoided using a Jigsaw, preferring hand, bench, mitre, chop, circular and bandsaws, even if a Jigsaw may have offered potential time-savings. I didn't give up hope of finding a decent Jigsaw, reviewing Festool, Mafell and some newer Bosch. Following review I decided that the Mafell P1 may be the machine to redress Jigsaw dissatisfaction, however I could not afford one, nor justify the cost. Lady luck stepped in and just as finances allowed, a used P1 came available. Upshot, I have played with it for two days and what a incredible tool it is. I dont have the tilting base so used at 90 degrees and with a long board, section tapered .75" to 0, allowing me to make an angled cut down an edge. It didn't falter with any cut, freehand or with a guide, through thicknesses from 1/4" to 3". Blades used were Mafell, which came with the saw and a variety of Bosch, from years ago. it performed with them all, stuttering occasionally while still delivering good results. I agree with comment that some Bosch blades are slightly bowed as you buy them, which may contribute cutting issues if your saw has roller guides. The P1 special blade lock only allows a blade to cut via one plane which gives repeatable cuts with a variety of blades. Mafell deserve the higher price of their tools due to the amount of work that goes into the design and manufacture. Ill look at more of the Mafell range hoping lady luck will call again.
